July/August 2022 Chair of Asia Pacific Regional Network leads youth engagement with Thailand House of Representatives Standing Committee on Transport

On 18 July 2022, the Standing Committee on Transport of the House of Representatives hosted a seminar Towards the 2nd Decade of Action for Road Safety: Safety for Children and Participation of Young Peoplein Bangkok. The event was the first ever seminar led by the Thai Parliament that put children and young people at the center of road safety policy and investment discussions. In line with the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030), and to support meaningful engagement of young people in road safety national policies, Mr Nikorn Chamnong, the Chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Road Safety Legislators, created a space for young people to be enabled to participate in road safety policy dialogue and knowledge sharing. More than 170 young people from schools in Bangkok attended the seminar Towards the 2nd Decade of Action for Road Safety: Safety for Children and Participation of Young People, hosted by the Standing Committee on Transport of the House of Representatives, in Bangkok on 18 July 2022 and gained better ideas and understanding about policies and interventions to save lives for themselves and their peers from road crashesMore information at, https://roadsafetylegislators.org/events/94256
