May 2022: Thai MPs received awards for their excellent and sustained work on road safety from Thailand’s Prime Minister

In recognition of their commitment and tireless efforts to save lives on the roads in Thailand, MP Nikorn Chamnong, the Chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Road Safety, and MP Surachai Liengboonlertchai, the former Chair, received the Prime Minsiter’s awards for road safety at the 15th National Seminar on Road Safety held in Bangkok, Thailand (25-26 May 2022). Both MPs have been working on road safety for several years to promote safety culture among road users and through improved laws in Thailand. The most recent work is the amendment of Thailand’s Land Traffic Act (passed on 6 May 2022).

On 18 July 2022, the Standing Committee on Transport of the House of Representatives hosted a seminar “Towards the 2nd Decade of Action for Road Safety: Safety for Children and Participation of Young People” in Bangkok.
