Roles of parliamentarians enhanced through the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030

The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to road safety and highlights what is needed to achieve the global target and calls on governments and partners to implement an integrated Safe System Approach.

Setting an example of the role of parliamentarians in sharing responsibility to achieve the new global target of reducing road deaths and injuries by at least 50% by 2030, the Chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Road Safety Legislators, Honourable MP Nikorn Chamnong, participated at the launch of the Global Plan on 28 October 2021 with other world leaders on road safety. He shared his experiences in leading road safety legislative efforts at both country and regional levels and invited global parliamentarians to aim high and to do everything in their capacity to achieve the ambitious global target.
