2017 Global Network of Road Safety legislators support the establishment of a UN Road Safety Trust Fund

The Global Network strongly welcomes the proposal for the establishment of a UN Road Safety Trust Fund. On 10 August 2017, the Chair of the Global Network for Road Safety, Mr Barry Sheerman, submitted a letter of support on the proposed establishment of the UN Road Safety Trust Fund. The letter highlights the Global Network’s concern that road traffic injury prevention remains underfunded and welcomes the UN Road Safety Trust Fund initiative

2017 Members of Parliament warn that global road traffic deaths rise again

At their Annual Leadership Council in the UK House of Commons on 12-13 December 2017, Members of Parliament from the Global Network adopted a resolution urging UN member States to redouble their efforts in the current Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. The members of parliament also urged governments to support the establishment of a UN Road Safety Trust Fund to encourage greater investme
